OpenAI announced that it is expanding ChatGPT's advertising service to 26 new countries, bringing coverage to a total of 89 countries, in a bid to broaden its revenue streams ahead of an IPO. The move marks a further acceleration of its global advertising rollout.

OpenAI's advertising business has reached an annualized revenue of $1 billion at its revenue run rate at the time.
More than 100,000 advertisers have placed ads on the ChatGPT platform so far.
The expansion adds 14 Latin American countries, including Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Peru.
ChatGPT ads will appear only on the free and Go plans; Plus, Pro and Enterprise subscriptions will remain ad-free.
Advertisers in the new markets can place ads through technology partners or set them up themselves using the Ads Manager tool on OpenAI's platform.
