中選會 held a press conference over a suspected personal data leak from the candidate asset declaration website. Chairperson You Ying-lung apologized and said the incident resulted from negligence by an engineer at contractor Acer Information. 中選會 stressed that the incident would not affect the year-end nine-in-one elections and said it had identified 32 access IP addresses. Premier Cho Jung-tai inspected post-disaster reconstruction work on the Mataian River and called for accelerated construction of high-standard levees and a second line of defense to protect the region from flooding. The 水利署 of the 經濟部 said in a briefing that work on the Guangfu levee section on the south bank has begun, with the first levee expected to be completed by the end of April 116. A 50-meter-wide earthen embankment will be built on the north bank as a second line of defense. In addition, about 23.85 million cubic meters of sediment have been dredged from the Mataian and Hualien rivers, while the 花蓮縣政府 continues to expedite work on drainage embankments.
