Koshikijima is an archipelago in the East China Sea, about 30 km west of Satsumasendai, Kagoshima Prefecture.
With the opening of the 1,533 m Koshiki Bridge, the longest in Kagoshima Prefecture, Nakakoshikijima and Shimokoshikijima were linked by road, connecting the three Koshiki islands with a single road for the first time.
The designated area covers about 49万 square meters and is Japan’s largest and densest habitat for kanoko lilies.
