AI models can prove their identity too! Anthropic launches FlashProve to prevent flagship models from being secretly swapped
Published ・ Source Taiwan | 鉅亨網
Anthropic has introduced the FlashProve prototype, which uses zero-knowledge cryptographic proofs to let users verify whether cloud-based LLM inference was performed by the specified model and prevent model substitution.
Facts
Anthropic has published research findings and a code prototype called FlashProve, seeking to use zero-knowledge cryptographic proofs to let users verify that each inference was indeed run by a specified model without obtaining its weights.
FlashProve's core concept is to generate an unfalsifiable cryptographic proof for each model inference, allowing model service providers to prove to outsiders that an output came from a specific model without disclosing its core weight parameters.
FlashProVE uses a zero-knowledge succinct non-interactive argument of knowledge (zkSNARK) architecture. Users need only obtain a public fingerprint, the input and the model output to complete verification on ordinary office equipment.
On a single 輝達 H100 GPU, FlashProve can generate proofs at a rate of about 110 tokens per second. A single request with a context length of 1,024 tokens produces a proof file of about 19MB.
The main costs of FlashProVE currently fall on service providers. Generating proofs takes 70 to 95 times as much computing time as running conventional inference with the vLLM inference engine.
Anthropic said its AI model Claude also played a major role in developing FlashProve and independently provided optimization solutions for key computing operators.
