The Ministry of the Environment announced that it will hold an additional call for applications from Tuesday, October 6, Reiwa 8, through Friday, November 6, for a project under the Reiwa 8 “Project for Measures Against Specified Invasive Alien Species” (grant) targeting the red-necked longhorn beetle, a specified invasive alien species that damages trees such as cherry, peach and plum. The project supports similar control measures carried out by local governments.
