The Executive Yuan announced the 2027 annual budget, with spending of 3.92 trillion yuan. It includes three categories surpassing 1 trillion in defense, social welfare and local subsidies, as well as 10 policy increases. Cho Jung-tai criticized what he called unreasonable cuts by the Legislative Yuan, stressed fiscal discipline with a zero-deficit budget and urged a review in accordance with the law.
