Taiwan has established the World Alliance for Disaster Management (WADM) and will fully fund the initial costs. In the future, member countries will share the costs. This organization aims to share Taiwan's disaster management technology and experience internationally and to enhance global disaster management capabilities. The establishment of WADM is based on Taiwan's accumulated experience in disaster preparedness, emergency response, firefighting and rescue, public-private cooperation, and post-disaster recovery. Taiwan asserts its leadership in the field of disaster management and seeks to reduce disaster risks through international cooperation. The core base of WADM is located at the Zhushan Fire Service Training Center in Nantou, Taiwan.
