Industrial computer manufacturer Advantech (8050-TW) announced the launch of its high-performance IB966 3.5-inch single-board computer, equipped with Intel Core Ultra 7 series processors (Panther Lake platform). The device integrates CPU, GPU, and NPU computing resources on a single platform, delivering up to 180 TOPS of total AI computing performance at maximum configuration. It targets real-time AI inference, machine vision, data analytics, and industrial automation applications at the edge.

According to Advantech, the IB966 supports Intel Core Ultra X7 358H, Intel Core Ultra 7 356H, or Intel Core Ultra 7 355 processors. Leveraging a heterogeneous computing architecture, it allocates workloads to the most suitable processing units based on task requirements, accelerating real-time decision-making at the edge while reducing latency, network traffic, and reliance on cloud computing. The board features dual DDR5-7200 SO-DIMM slots, supporting up to 128GB of memory, meeting the demands of data-intensive edge AI applications and efficient multitasking.

In terms of connectivity and expandability, the IB966 offers two 2.5GbE ports, USB 3.2, USB 2.0, and two RS232/422/485 interfaces. Display outputs include HDMI, DisplayPort, USB Type-C with DisplayPort functionality, LVDS, and eDP. Additionally, it includes three M.2 slots supporting high-speed NVMe storage and wireless connectivity.

Moreover, the IB966 supports 12V to 24V DC power input and features digital I/O, Intel AMT (Active Management Technology), discrete TPM, and a programmable watchdog timer, enhancing system security, management efficiency, and operational reliability. Its application scope spans machine vision, smart manufacturing, intelligent transportation, medical imaging, and smart retail—high-performance edge AI scenarios.
