Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che led a municipal delegation and representatives from Tainan-based enterprises on a 40-hour business visit to the Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland. Despite the short stay, the delegation held intensive meetings with local governments, economic zones, technology parks, and companies, focusing on industrial exchanges in artificial intelligence (AI) and smart manufacturing, actively expanding Taiwan-Poland cooperation opportunities and advancing Tainan’s economic diplomacy.

Mayor Huang stated that the trip efficiently accomplished multiple tasks, including city promotion, industry matchmaking, and agricultural product promotion. He expressed hope that through intensive exchanges, Tainan’s technological capabilities and industrial advantages would gain international visibility, while also creating new overseas business opportunities for local enterprises, showcasing the city’s achievements in economic diplomacy.

The delegation included representatives from Tainan-based companies such as Yunli Fa, Jiandong Precision Intelligent Control, Binshi, Kaiyu Technology, Ruijian Aerospace, and Yinghan Technology. Through face-to-face exchanges with Polish government and industry representatives, they sought investment collaboration and technological linkages. Mayor Huang emphasized that the city government will continue to serve as the best support for local businesses, assisting Tainan enterprises in expanding into international markets and deepening bilateral industrial cooperation.

Upon arrival in Poland, the delegation was warmly received. Mayor Huang met with Gdańsk Mayor Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, Gdynia Deputy Mayor Tomasz Augustyniak, Pomeranian Regional Development Agency Director Sławomir Kosakowski, and representatives from multiple investment promotion agencies. Both sides exchanged in-depth views on industrial development, investment cooperation, and cultural exchange, expressing a shared desire to further strengthen Taiwan-Poland collaboration.

The Tainan City Government noted that the Pomeranian Voivodeship, located in northern Poland, includes key port cities such as Gdańsk and Gdynia. Historically known for shipping, trade, and shipbuilding, the region has recently been actively developing semiconductor, AI, and high-tech industries. It has attracted major international investments from companies such as Intel, SK Hynix, and Spanish AI chip firm Openchip, becoming a significant technology hub in Poland and offering new cooperation opportunities for Tainan enterprises seeking to expand into the European market.
