Creatively blending historical figures from the Three Kingdoms period, the video features Liu Bei and Zhuge Liang 'traveling through time' to appear in modern-day Kaohsiung, using an engaging storyline to demonstrate common risks associated with left-turning motorcycles and reminding the public to remember the three key principles: 'Slow, Look, Yield,' thereby reducing traffic accidents at intersections.The Kaohsiung City Government explained that uncontrolled intersections—those without traffic signals—are particularly hazardous, as drivers who fail to slow down and observe their surroundings may collide with oncoming vehicles or pedestrians. Left turns by motorcyclists are especially high-risk. To address this, the News Bureau utilized widely recognized Three Kingdoms characters and narratives to produce an entertaining and lively video that conveys traffic safety messages in a way that resonates with everyday life.In the video, Liu Bei rides a motorcycle approaching an uncontrolled intersection, preparing to turn left. Uncertain how to proceed amid oncoming traffic, he is promptly assisted by Zhuge Liang, who presents a 'Three-Strategy Scroll' advising him to first slow down and move closer to the inner side of the road. Upon entering the intersection, he must observe oncoming straight-moving vehicles and yield to those with the right of way. Finally, before crossing any crosswalk, he must stop and yield to pedestrians—thus fully demonstrating the safe left-turn procedure. With Zhuge Liang’s guidance, Liu Bei successfully completes the turn and avoids a potential accident.The city government emphasized that there is no shortcut to traffic safety—no strategy, however brilliant, can replace adherence to traffic rules.
