According to a report from the Taichung City Food Safety Office on the 13th, two additional batches of Zhonglian Soybean Salad Oil were found to exceed benzopyrene limits, bringing the total to five contaminated batches. The newly added batches (Lot No. 318-1150406 and 314-1150410) were reported by Fushou Company on the evening of the 12th, expanding the initial three batches (Lot No. 315-1150404, 313-1150512, and 315-1150510).The Taichung Food Safety Office released information on the 4th and 5th batches of contaminated oil, detailing products made by Fushou and Fumao using the affected oil, their batch numbers, second-tier distribution channels, and updated lists of third-tier affected businesses in Taichung. All impacted products have been ordered to be recalled and removed from shelves.The 4th batch, Zhonglian Soybean Salad Oil Lot No. 318-1150406, was used by Fushou to produce 'Fushou Peanut Flavor Essence Blend Oil 2L' (Batch No. BL130426F, Expiry Date: January 8, 2028), which tested positive for 4.3 ppb of benzopyrene. This batch was shipped to Fushou (102.56 metric tons), Fumao (108.33 metric tons), and Taishan (322.96 metric tons). Fushou and Fumao produced 10 products across 22 batches, distributed to 188 downstream businesses via Fushou and 41 via Fumao, including Louis Coffee Artisan Co., Ltd., PX Mart Hankyu Bakery Co., Ltd., and Aijuiwei Co., Ltd.The 5th batch, Zhonglian Soybean Salad Oil Lot No. 314-1150410, was used by Fushou to produce 'Fushou Unsaturated Soybean Salad Oil 2L' (Batch No. C1160426A, Expiry Date: April 10, 2028), which tested positive for 3.8 ppb of benzopyrene. This batch was shipped to Fushou (639.26 metric tons), Fumao (477.79 metric tons), and Taishan (190.38 metric tons). Fushou and Fumao produced 21 products across 62 batches, distributed to 336 downstream businesses via Fushou and 102 via Fumao, including Uni-President Food Service Co., Ltd. and Din Gua Gua International Co., Ltd.The Taichung Food Safety Office incorporated downstream data provided by Nan Chiao for Taichung City, adding 20 new businesses to the list, bringing the total to 111 food service and processing businesses that had purchased or used the contaminated oil. All have ceased use and completed removal from shelves. As of July 13, a total of 65,374 kilograms of contaminated oil products have been recalled and removed.
