The post sparked a lively discussion among netizens.The local police stated that after consulting with the Hsinchu City Government, the area in front of the building is a "pedestrian space without eaves (covered walkway)" and is a no-parking zone, where vehicles are prohibited from parking illegally by law.Liu Yen-ling told CNA that the area looks like an ordinary open space. Store owners may not be aware of the regulations, and the general public is even less so. Consequently, being fined for unintentionally parking there can indeed feel baffling.Liu Yen-ling suggested that the city government should proactively intervene and assist in resolving such disputes. If the space can legally accommodate temporary parking spots, the government should actively guide businesses to apply according to regulations. If the land use classification indeed prohibits parking spots, stores should be instructed to conduct public awareness campaigns and refrain from marking parking spaces to prevent citizens from being fined for unintentional parking.The Hsinchu City Government stated in writing that the open space outside the convenience store where people parked is within the scope of road land.
