General Incorporated Association Work Design Lab (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Takashi Ishikawa, hereinafter "Work Design Lab"), which aims to realize a society full of vibrant working adults, announces that it has signed a "TIB Partner Agreement" with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to promote the startup support hub "Tokyo Innovation Base" (hereinafter "TIB"), which the Tokyo Metropolitan Government is developing, through public-private collaboration. Moving forward, Work Design Lab will leverage its network of approximately 260 partners across various municipalities and businesses it collaborates with, connecting startups gathered at TIB with regional businesses nationwide to promote new collaborative projects that transcend organizational and regional boundaries.■Background and Objectives of ParticipationTIB, operated by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, is a major hub where startups and their supporters gather and interact from around the world. It grand-opened as a place to foster challengers who advance society with innovative ideas and technologies by connecting diverse people.Work Design Lab has, to date, created numerous co-creation projects with regional companies and municipalities by redesigning people and work styles in urban areas. In this initiative, Work Design Lab will play a role as a hub connecting urban startups with regional resources nationwide, contributing to the expansion of TIB's function as a "NODE" for innovation. Through this, we aim to develop the ecosystem of Tokyo and Japan as a whole, beyond the benefits of individual companies.■Collaboration and Specific ActionsLeveraging Work Design Lab's expertise and network, we will implement the following initiatives to drive the creation of global startups originating from Tokyo, centered around TIB, and the realization of mutual value in sustainable coexistence and prosperity.Revitalizing Exchange between Regional Businesses and StartupsWe will hold practical workshops to match the technologies and ideas of startups gathered at TIB with the challenges faced by municipalities and regional companies nationwide.Holding Events and MeetupsAs an initiative to support the ambitious challenges of startups and collaborating businesses, we will plan and operate events with a view to fostering the next generation of entrepreneurs.Mentoring by ProfessionalsCollaborating with diverse ecosystem players, multi-talented individuals active on the front lines of various industries belonging to Work Design Lab will provide multifaceted support for startups' business growth and organizational development.■Past Activities and Events at TIB1【Organized Event】Tokyo Underground Lounge Vol.2 MUSIC / BUSINESS / BRAZIL CULTUREDate & Time: January 29, 2026 (Thu) 18:00 - 21:00Venue: Tokyo Innovation Base 1F CAFE & BARThis is the second networking event that uses culture, such as "music" and "art," which are not often featured in typical business contexts, as a focal point to foster interaction among startups and TIB stakeholders. For one night only, a Brazilian-style teahouse, "Boteco," was set up within TIB. In addition to local food and music, and explanations of scenery by a professional photographer, VCs supporting expansion into Brazil were also invited. ~Expanding Organizational Possibilities through Secondment and Side Jobs~Date & Time: February 18, 2026 (Wed) 18:00 - 20:00Venue: Tokyo Innovation Base 1F SQUARE-2This is an event related to a Tokyo Metropolitan Government project themed around "utilizing external human resources (secondment/side jobs)" to support startup growth. Startups and experts who embrace diverse talent gathered to share practical know-how. ~Realities of Requirement Setting and Bottleneck Resolution~," leading discussions for executives and HR personnel struggling with talent acquisition.3Tokyo Underground Lounge Vol.3 MUSIC / BUSINESS / DEIDate & Time: March 3, 2026 (Tue) 15:00 - 21:00Venue: Tokyo Innovation Base 1F SQUARE-2This is the third event in the series that uses culture as a focal point for interaction. This time, in cooperation with JEITA (Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association), music and the latest technology were combined from a DEI perspective. Events included Fujitsu's "Ontenna," a device for experiencing sound with the body, AI-powered real-time VJing, and a talk live by a deaf table tennis athlete.
