Yokohama City is proceeding with interior renovations to renew its local libraries, which are familiar to citizens, into comfortable spaces where people can leisurely enjoy books. The Totsuka Library has recently undergone interior renovation work for approximately two months starting in May of Reiwa 8.To commemorate the renewal opening, an opening ceremony will be held on July 10th, followed by various related events starting at the end of July.Concept for the Renewed Library Operations"A Little Lively, More Comfortable, Surely You'll Find Your Book."Key New FeaturesChildren's LibraryA "Kirimkabu Hiroba" (Stump Plaza) where children can take off their shoes and relax while reading books.Teens' LoungeA space for junior high and high school students to talk about books and spend their time freely.General Book FloorFeatures include a "Recommended Bookshelf" recommended by users and displays showing book covers.In addition, various improvements have been made, such as a significant increase in the number of reading seats, the installation of a nursing room, and the "Pitari-e Quiz" (a digital tool that presents picture book quizzes).Renewal Opening Date and Time: Reiwa 8, July 10th (Fri) 10:00 AM onwards1.
