Jimoty, Inc. will open 'Jimoty Spot Osaka Suminoe' on May 28, 2026, marking its first public-private re-use hub in Osaka City. Based on an October 2022 agreement, the hub allows residents to drop off unwanted, usable items without a reservation or fees. Others can pick them up for free or at a low cost. Partnering with West Japan Environmental Co., Ltd., the initiative aims to reduce waste and promote resource circulation. Jimoty plans to expand to 329 stores nationwide by 2030, projecting an annual waste reduction of 84,000 tons.
